AQAP 2110 – NATO quality requirements for defence suppliers

Defence contracts often require the supplier to meet AQAP 2110. We help you add the AQAP requirements to your ISO 9001 system, prepare the quality plan and get ready for the customer's and the Government Quality Assurance (GQA) representative's oversight. Where needed, the same team covers the information security requirements too.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do we need ISO 9001 certification for AQAP 2110?

AQAP 2110 includes the ISO 9001 requirements and adds NATO-specific ones, so an ISO 9001 system is the foundation either way. Whether the customer also requires an ISO 9001 certificate depends on the specific contract – we will review it with you.

Who assesses compliance with AQAP 2110?

AQAP is not a classic certifiable standard like ISO 9001. Compliance is usually assessed by the customer or a Government Quality Assurance (GQA) representative within the contract. Some certification bodies also offer AQAP assessments, but the contract requirement is always what counts.

Is this suitable for a subcontractor as well?

Yes. The prime contractor often flows the AQAP requirements down to its subcontractors. We help a subcontractor understand exactly what is expected and set up the system in proportion to its role.

Can you help with the information security requirements too?

Yes – it is 27k Advisory's core field. Defence suppliers are often expected to demonstrate both quality and information security, and our team has experience in the defence sector. That way you get both from one place.

Does your contract include an AQAP requirement?

Send us the quality requirements of your contract or tender and we will assess the gap between your current system and what is required.
